A Maryland State Senator since January 9, 2019, Senator Pam Beidle represents Maryland’s 32nd legislative district in Anne Arundel County. Before her tenure in elected office however, she would proudly graduate from Towson University (B.S., Business Administration, 1994).
Beidle’s professional career would see her make her way to the insurance industry as she would serve as the President of Beidle Insurance Agency from 1979-2018. Beidle embarked on a career in public service upon her election to the Anne Arundel County Council in 1998. She’d serve as the Councilwoman representing the First Councilmanic District from 1998 until 2006. In 2006, Beidle would be elected to the Maryland House of Delegates where she’d serve from 2006 until 2018 as a member of the House Environmental Matters/Environment and Transportation Committee. She’d also serve as Chair of the Motor Vehicles and Transportation Subcommittee of the Environment and Transportation Committee from 2015 until 2019 and as Chair of the Anne Arundel County House Delegation in 2014, 2015, and 2017.
Since election to the Maryland Senate, Beidle has served as a member of the Senate Finance Committee and its Health and Long Term Care Subcommittee. Additionally, she serves as the Vice Chair of the influential Senate Executive Nominations Committee.
For her years of service, Beidle has been recognized with numerous awards and honors including the Distinguished Alumni Award from Leadership Anne Arundel (1998), the Fannie Lou Hamer Award from the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards Committee (2002), the Legislator of the Year Award from the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce (2003), and the President’s Award for Excellence from the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce (2003).
Senator Beidle resides in Linthicum with her husband Len. The two are proud parents of three adult children and the grandparents of six.
